The Quiet Room  🤍

Privacy & your words

You may write things here you haven't told anyone. Here's exactly what happens to them.

Last updated: August 2026

The short version: your entries are private to your account. They're never shown to other members, never sold, and never used for advertising. You can delete any entry, or your whole account, whenever you want.

What we store

When you write in the Room, we store your entry (the text, the date, the feeling it read, and the piece it showed you) so your journal and calendar are there when you come back. We store your email and name (from Google sign-in or the email you use for a sign-in link), and — if you subscribe — your plan status. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store them.

How your words are used

Your writing is read by the Room only to do the one thing you came for: understand the feeling and meet it with a piece of art, a word, and a reflection. That reading happens on our own server against our emotion graph — your text is not sent to any third-party AI company, and it is not used to train outside models. It is not shared with other members or sold to anyone.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so your writing is encrypted in transit. Entries are stored in a managed database with access restricted to the running application. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll be honest with you if that ever changes.

Deleting your writing

You can delete any single day's entry from within the Room. To delete your entire account and everything in it, or to request a copy of your data, email admin@thequietroomjourney.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

The Safe Space

The Safe Space wall is anonymous by design: notes are never linked to your identity in anything we show. We keep a one-way, unreadable fingerprint only to prevent spam and abuse — it can't be turned back into who you are, and it's never displayed. Notes that suggest someone is in crisis are met with support resources rather than posted, and anyone can flag a note for review.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small amount of first-party storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We track anonymous product events (like "an entry was written") to understand whether the Room is helping — not to profile you, and not shared with ad networks.

A note on care

The Quiet Room offers art and reflection — not therapy, diagnosis, or medical advice. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a licensed professional. In the US you can call or text 988 anytime; internationally, findahelpline.com lists options near you.
